Season 3, Episode 10: The Grand Opening

Ivy at the Shore, continued

You might think I’m wrong about this one, but it’s definitely right. This was probably the hardest location I’ve had to identify. What gave me a clue that I could geek out on was a ferris wheel visible as Larry and Cheryl walked through the entrance. I had to assume that the ferris wheel was on the Santa Monica Pier. Ocean Ave is the only main street with the Pier visible down the street. I wandered down the street until I saw a building and trees that resembled (sort of) the scene. The camera angles make the show restaurant look way bigger than it actually is.
An employee recently sent me this message:
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your message — I just watched that Curb recently as well! The exterior was filmed at what is now Ivy at the Shore but at the time it was filmed the Shore was located in the building next door. Hence I’m not sure about the interior shots.
All the best,
India Irving

My whole life, every time I'm in a bowling alley Sticking my fingers in all these holes, picking up the balls. You gotta get your own ball. I don't bowl enough to get my own ball. It takes up a lot of space in the house. You keep looking at it in the closet going, "What am I doing with a bowling ball? I don't even bowl." You know what I mean? So you don't want to get rid of the ball. How do you get rid of a bowling ball? Think about that. Who do you give a bowling ball to? Nobody bowls.”
